Mitch is a full time Veterinarian and Director at Town and Country Vet and works mostly with horses and large animals . He has a passion for equine reproduction, lameness (poor performance) and dentistry. Most days he will be found performing a wide variety of equine disciplines. Mitch offers a professional, friendly service for our customers and their animals.
Mitch grew up in southland, on a sheep and beef farm. After a good few years of hard studying at Massey University, He started his career here in New Zealand clinics from Gore to Matamata. While working in Matamata he also passed his Australian College Membership exams in Equine Medicine. Mitch ended up in the UK where he worked in an specialist equine clinic about an hour out of London. The clinic covered a diverse range of equine disciplines with many clients competing internationally in polo, showjumping, dressage, eventing and endurance. Mitch had clients competing at the 2011 London Olympics and the 2013 World Equestrian Games in France. In 2014 both teams in the Gold Cup final were looked after by Mitch’s practice. Mitch was also involved in providing care for a large number of London police horses.
Mitch joined Town and Country Vet in 2015. If you really want to see Mitch in his element, he spends his free maintaining his farm in Dovedale and like spending time with friends playing sport. He also enjoys mountain biking, swimming, tramping and playing the guitar.
