Paula Oram BVSc - Veterinarian

Paula is a part-time Veterinarian at Town and Country Vet and works with Small animals only, She really enjoys the medicine side of small animal work and has a passion for working with birds – especially chickens. Paula offers a warm bubbly service for our customers and their animals. Most working days she will be found performing multiple snuggles to all our furry patients!

Paula grew up Invercargill. Her dream to become a vet started as a 6-year-old helping her Dad in his racing stables. She decided to be a vet and forgot to change her my mind.

After a good few years of hard studying at Massey University, Paula practiced in Australia and the UK and was lucky enough to do volunteer vet work in Nepal, Morocco and Ethiopia.

Paula had been overseas for a few years and decided to come back in New Zealand and chose sunny Nelson to settle down. She joined Town and Country Vet in 2004, and has never looked back.

Paula spends her free time with her dashing husband and beautiful children. She enjoys cooking and has found a new obsession for sewing! Also part of the family includes a bad beagle called Billie, cute cat Lulu, 5 chickens and a worm farm!
